Jay Bilas is the owner and operator of the Jay Bilas Basketball Skills Camp. Jay is a 1986 graduate of Duke University undergrad and 1992 graduate of Duke Law where he competed for Hall of Fame Coach Mike Krzyzewski on the Blue Devil Basketball team. Jay was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks and played professionally for 2 years in Europe before embarking on his coaching career. Bilas served as an assistant coach on Blue Devil bench during a time that included the 1991 and 1992 National Championships. Bilas then launched a successful law career before becoming a popular analyst on ESPN’s coverage of college basketball. Bilas has published one book, Toughness, and is a sought after motivational speaker throughout the world. Bilas is one of the most respected voices in college basketball today.
John Searby serves as Camp Director and manages the day-to-day operations of the camp. John is a 1998 graduate of Milligan College where he led the Buffaloes to 3 conference titles and an NAIA National Tournament appearance. Following graduation, Searby embarked on a 10-year collegiate coaching career with stops at Gardner-Webb, Tennessee Tech, Lincoln Christian University, and Auburn. Searby currently works in the sports business world as the Director of Sports for Downstream, a Portland, OR based design firm.
Paul Biancardi is the Director of Evaluation. Paul is the National Recruiting Director for ESPN.com. Paul has 18 years of collegiate basketball coaching experience at the Division I level, including being name the Horizon League Coach of the Year while head coach at Wright State University.
Lane Odom is the owner of SportMatch and Director of Marketing and Recruiting for The Jay Bilas Skills Camp. Lane started SPORTMATCH in 2013, in an effort to help solve the recruiting process riddle and bridge the gap between prospects and college coaches. As the son of former head Wake Forest and South Carolina coach Dave Odom, he grew to love basketball at a young age. During his career, he served as a Division I Assistant Basketball Coach at Alabama, ECU, UNCC and Missouri. He has coached in 8 NCAA Tournaments including a Sweet 16 run with Alabama and an Elite 8 appearance with Missouri. Lane coached players such as Latrell Sprewell, Robert Horry, Linas Kleiza, Antonio McDyess, and Kareem Rush while in the college ranks. Lane will oversee the marketing and selection of campers for the camp as well as develop and provide valuable recruiting information to all participants.
